New Delhi: Yuvraj Singh’s mother, Shabnam, is grateful to God for his successful return to cricket.
Asked about her ambition in life regarding his talented son, who spearheaded India’s successful World Cup campaign in 2011 before being detected with cancer, Shabnam said: “I am thankful to God that my son is now fine but I want him to continue playing...
“He should keep winning matches for the country,” said Yuvraj’s mother during the book release funtion on Tuesday.
Last year’s March 18, Yuvraj’s mother said, was like an independence day for her.
“That was the day when doctors declared Yuvi fully fit. I only know what we went through. It was such a relief,” she recalled.
“Everyday was a struggle those days… We didn’t know whether we could win this battle against cancer or not.
“But I never lost heart. Finally, we won,” said Shabnam with a broad smile.
