Udalguri awarded walkover

Guwahati, March 15: Udalguri were awarded a walkover in their scheduled match of the RG Baruah Trophy under-17 inter-district cricket tournament today as their opponents Bilashipara did not turn up for the Group A match at Nehru Stadium here. Barpeta will meet Mangaldoi in Saturday’s match.

Guwahati team: The Guwahati Sports Association on Friday named the district squad for the ongoing Nuruddin Ahmed Trophy elite group cricket tournament under way here. The squad comprises Abhijit Singha Roy (capt), Rajib Kalita, Rahul Hazarika, Romario Sharma, Bitop Mahanta, Arminder Singh Oberoi, Sunil Ranjan Gogoi, Sunzow Brahma, Ambar Bhattacharjee, Nayan Deka, Chanakya Sarma, Kon Urang, Mantu Das, Nipon Deka, Sujoy Tarafdar, Bikash Chetri and Fazaruddin Ahmed.

Tennis meet: Kaliayani Club of Numaligarh Refinery Ltd will organise the sixth All-Assam ranking tennis championship on its courts in Numaligarh from March 20 to 24.
