Kohima, March 13: The first session of 12th Assembly will begin tomorrow with oath of affirmation of members.
Altogether 59 members would take the oath. The election to Tuensang Sadar-I was adjourned after the death of Congress MLA P. Chuba Chang.
Among the 59 members, 38 are from Naga People’s Front (NPF), eight from Congress, one each from the BJP and JD (U) and seven Independents, four from the NCP.
The election of Speaker will also be held tomorrow. The NPF has proposed the name of former parliamentary secretary for social welfare and women development, Chotisuh Sazo, for the top post.
The Congress had filed a corruption case against Sazo in the state vigilance department. On March 15, outgoing governor Nikhil Kumar will address the session, which will be followed by obituary references and motion of thanks to the governor’s address.
The session, which will conclude on March 19, will have question hour, laying of reports and rules, presentation of supplementary demands for grants for regularisation of excess expenditure for the year 2007-08 and 201-2013, vote on accounts for 2013-14, introduction of bills, debate on motion of thanks to the governor’s address, discussion and voting on supplementary demands for grants, introduction, consideration and passing of Nagaland Appropriation (No.1) Bill, 2013.
The session will also include discussion and voting on supplementary demands for grants for the year 2012-13 and 2013-14, introduction, consideration and passing of the Nagaland Appropriation (No.3) Bill, 2013, announcement of the constitution of various financial committees by the Speaker and announcement of panel of chairmen.
