Calcutta: East Bengal are likely to play their IFA Shield semi-final on Sunday.
Although the IFA is yet to make an official announcement regarding the semis and final dates, the first semi-final will most likely be on Friday, featuring Prayag United SC and the winner of Group B, with the final on March 20.
“Efforts are being made to hold the second semi-final — the one featuring East Bengal — and the final under floodlights,” an source said.
Salt Lake Stadium is the venue for the second semi-final and the final, while Kalyani Stadium is tipped to stage the first semi-final.
Now, the I-League match between Mohun Bagan and Pune FC, earlier scheduled on March 20, is likely to be held sometime in April.
Meanwhile, Deportivo Saprissa goalkeeper, Douglas Espinoza, who was had a cerebral concussion after a collision with Manish Bhargav during the Group B game against Bagan in Kalyani, was discharged from hospital on Monday afternoon.
