Guwahati, March 10: A. Bobby Singh of Assam was crowned Mr Saraighat in the 24th edition of Mr Saraighat R.G. Baruah All-India Classic Body-Building Championship at Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium here last evening.
Javed Ali Khan of Indian Railways and Vijay Bahadur of Uttar Pradesh were placed second and third respectively in the competition organised by the Assam Body Builders and Fitness Association under the Indian Body Builders Federation.
“B. Maheswaram (Maharashtra) was placed fourth, Virender Singh (Delhi) fifth, Dhiraj Jaiswal of Haryana sixth, N.G. Ranbir of Manipur seventh, N. Sarba Singh (Indian Railways) eighth, K.H. Dineshor of Manipur ninth and Agnish Sharma of UP was placed tenth in the championship,” Bhabajyoti Goswami, general secretary of the association, said.
The association had invited 20 ranked body-builders at the meet that had Rs 2.4 lakh as prize money.
The top 10 body-builders were honoured with cash awards. Singh bagged Rs 75,000 while Khan was richer by Rs 50,000.
