Hyderabad: Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman launched GIFT — Gastrointestinal and Liver Foundation For Research and Treatment of Cancers — at the team hotel, on Tuesday evening. The event was organised by the Asian Institute of Gastroentology.
In his speech, Sachin said that life is the greatest gift a doctor can give to mankind. “The greatest gift a human being can get from a doctor is life. I would tell each and every one of you to breathe freely and enjoy your freedom because there’s nothing bigger and more valuable than that.
“Enjoy life, enjoy freedom,” was all The Master had to say.
Sachin also appreciated the group of doctors led by D. Nageshwar Reddy and Prateek Sharma, who started the foundation.
VVS Laxman released a book on gastrointestinal cancer on the occasion.
