Apollosana, Sunchand in top spot

Imphal, March 3: Seeds Rk. Apollosana and Sunchand Singh shared the top spot with five-and-a-half point each in the 6th North East Chess Championship at Kangshang in Khuman Lampak sports complex. In the sixth round, Sunchand Singh held top seed Apollosana Singh to a draw, to share half-a-point.

Manoj Burua of Assam beat Y. Pritamkumar of Manipur to gain full points. The win pushed Manoj five points ahead to be on a par with Pritamkumar at second spot.

Other players who share the second slot are Premjit Singh, Chakritombi of Manipur, Imtiaz Islam Bora, Dharmeshwar Pegu of Assam and Kevi Lekho Zumvu of Nagaland.
