Siliguri, March 1: An alleged trained KLO militant was arrested by the Siliguri metropolitan police from Jyotinagar near here today.
The police said Deepak Roy was picked up from his house at Jyotinagar this evening after they got information that he was making extortion calls to businessmen.
A pistol and four rounds of live cartridges have been recovered.
“The KLO militant had taken training in the fourth batch in Bhutan. In 2004, he was arrested at Mathabhanga in Cooch Behar and was in jail for seven years. In 2011, he was released on bail,” Anand Kumar, the commissioner of Siliguri metropolitan police, said.
