Styled by Abhishek Dutta into bridal and festive looks, Kritika was dolled up by Rajat-Kaushik. Picture by Rashbehari Das

Kritika Kamra is into hoarding... jewellery! Dr Nidhi of the Sony hit Kuch Toh Log Kahenge shared all this and more with t2 on the sidelines of a P.C. Chandra Jewellers shoot at photographer Sanat Ghosh’s Bhowanipore studio on Wednesday....

Are you a jewellery person?

Frankly, personally, I never used to be but of late I have started liking jewellery. My mom used to tell me that once I grow up, I would start liking jewellery. I was into a lot of silver and antique, but now I like all sorts of jewellery.

So, what are you into mostly these days?

I am a fan of the classics. So, whenever my mom buys anything for herself or for me, it has to be traditional, something that never goes out of fashion. I am not a fan of contemporary styles, especially when it comes to gold. The different art forms that we have in India are beautiful and if I could own one from each state, I’d be really lucky!

What from Bengal would you like to buy?

If you think of films… Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been endorsing it forever (laughs). Beautiful jewellery in Devdas, amazing maangtikas… big jewellery. I’ll need a big occasion for such kind of jewellery.

May be for your wedding?

I have worn it so many times (for shoots) that I don’t know whether I am going to wear it for my actual wedding!

What is that one piece of jewellery without which you never step out?

I have a nose piercing since college. I am really fond of it. More than earrings, I am fond of nose accessories. I love it so much that I make it a point to change it. I have mostly silver actually… in different colours and styles. I like the ring (style) a lot, instead of the studs. I now have three boxes full of nose accessories! Another thing I really like is the anklet.

How do you go from day to night?

I am very bohemian during the day… lots of colours. The trick is you cannot do too much with jewellery all the time. If I am wearing a sari, I will carry a statement bracelet and change my watch. I usually do not wear earrings during the day… so maybe I’ll carry earrings. Quick tips would be not to go overboard. If you are trying to make a statement, wear just one exclusive piece. Handy things to carry in your bag would be two pairs of watches, bracelets that look like bands, and solitaire. If I am not sure of what to wear, I go for solitaire.

What would you like to buy for yourself?

Traditional choker minus the earrings. It can do wonders.

If you could take a peek into someone’s casket, who would it be and why?

Jodha Bai! I want to find out whether they have depicted her right. Did she really wear so much?
