Doctor laxity

Nawada, Feb. 28 (PTI): A woman and her child in the womb died in the district hospital here allegedly because of doctor’s negligence leading to violent protest on Thursday, police said. he woman, Sangeeta Kumari, was admitted to the hospital four days ago. Her relatives alleged that a lady doctor was pressuring the woman to come to her private nursing home and did not take care of her in the hospital.

Buxar/Azamgarh: Two Dumraon block residents, identified as Guddu Yadav and Hare Ram Yadav, were killed on Wednesday morning when the vehicle they were travelling in was hit by a truck near Terahi village in Uttar Pradesh’s Azamgarh.

Buxar: The BJP Simri block president, Vinod Rai, was injured late on Wednesday evening after his motorbike was hit by an SUV on the rear near Raj High School in Dumraon. In another accident on Thursday evening, two Buxar town residents, Ashutosh Kumar and Izhar Alam, were injured near Pratap Sagar when a truck hit their motorbike.

Siwan: Fast track court 5 judge Janardan Tripathi on Thursday awarded rigorous life imprisonment to three residents of Kamalpur village for the murder of two persons Ranjit Yadav and Upendra Yadav in 2008. The sentenced - Vazir Alam Khan, Prem Pandit and Indradeo Ram — had opened fire on the victims over dispute in selling fishes from a government pond.

Ara: Around 100 teachers and non-teaching employees burnt the effigy of chief minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday in front of the Bhojpur collectorate. They were protesting against the government giving them financial aid and demanded regularised salary.

Gaya: Dinesh Rai, the principal of MSRDD College in Aurangabad, wanted by the CBI in a case of awarding fake degrees to people in the name of Magadh University was produced in court by a CBI team on Thursday and taken to Shimla. He was arrested late on Wednesday evening.
