Two directors of Jeevan Suraksha Group — Ashok Chakraborty and Arju Acharjee — were remanded in 14 days’ police custody when they were produced before a local court here on Tuesday.
They were produced in the court in connection with a case registered against them at CID police station for allegedly taking public deposits without having the Reserve Bank of India’s permission.
The duo were arrested in Calcutta on Sunday and brought here on Monday. Depositors and agents shouted slogans against the duo. Picture by UB Photos
