Jorhat triumph

Guwahati, Feb. 24: Jorhat tamed Karbi Anglong by 10 wickets in their campaign opener elite group league match of the Nuruddin Ahmed Trophy senior inter-district cricket tournament that ended at Nurul Amin Stadium in Nagaon today.

Karbi Anglong were skittled out for only 79 runs in 36.3 overs and Jorhat reached 83 without losing a wicket in 15.4 overs to put an end to the two-day affair on the first day itself. While Rahul Ranghang (39) was the only notable Karbi Anglong batsman, Dayal Krishna Dutta of Jorhat hauled seven wickets for 34 runs and Prabal Borkotoky chipped in with two for 14. Tilok Raj Yadav and Gitartha Bordoloi of Jorhat remained unbeaten on 39 and 24 respectively.
