Jamshedpur, Feb. 23: Assam began their campaign in style by handing out a confident 7 wicket defeat to Bengal on the inaugural day of the senior women’s inter-zonal T20 league at Keenan Stadium today.
Bengal never settled after being invited to bat first. Wickets fell at regular intervals thanks to tidy bowling by Assam who restricted Bengal to 112 for 3 in 20 overs.
Assam made the chase easy thanks to quick knocks of 46 by Nisha Sharma and 27 by Anita Lodhi. Assam attained the target with 5 balls to spare.
