Kokrajhar, Feb. 22: A weeklong training in mountaineering will be organised at Dangtal Bhubaneswar Hill in Chirang district from February 26.
The training will be organised by district sports officer (DSO), Chirang, in association with Sports and Youth Welfare, Bodoland Territorial Council, in order to generate awareness about mountaineering among the general population and students in the region.
Dasarath Brahma, Chirang district sports officer, said the training would continue till March 4 with participants across the state.
Various kinds of information, knowledge and practical lessons on mountaineering would be imparted during the training camp.
He said all interested club and NGO members and individuals could contact the DSO offices concerned for detailed information regarding participation and the schedule.
Assam transport and tourism minister Chandan Brahma will grace the occasion as the chief guest, on the inaugural day.
