What’s the premise of the show?

The show is about couples and getting the spark back in the relationship. It is about the woman giving up control and letting the man take over and shop for a brand-new wardrobe for her with £5,000. These men also get to destroy items in their partner’s cupboard that have been annoying them for years! He also gets her a fantastic wardrobe and an education on her body shape and all that she should be wearing.

Did you ever let even an immaculate dresser like George Clooney make your wardrobe decisions?

(Laughs) It is a girl’s nightmare. And if I ever let any of my boyfriends, including George, choose my wardrobe then a girlfriend of mine must accompany him. That is what my role is in the show. I get to know the girl, her dress size and shoe size, what she needs on a day-to-day basis, whether it’s a work wardrobe or practical clothes. The first day of shopping when the boys are on their own is usually a disaster. They come back with the wrong sizes. Some clothes are a bit too sexy for taking the kids to school. But it’s trial and error. By the next shopping day, a week later, he has been educated on what style works on her and what doesn’t.

Is looking good all about dressing right?

It’s about confidence. It’s a cycle. To get the confidence, you’ve got to like what you see in the mirror, at least most of the time. Confidence comes out of dressing in a certain way, having a great relationship with your partner and a happy home life.
