Paras in hospital after heart attack

Bangkok, Feb. 20 (PTI): Former Nepal crown prince Paras Shah has been admitted to a Bangkok hospital after he suffered a heart attack.

According to local Thai media reports, 42-year-old Paras was rushed to the Samitiveg Hospital last night where his health deteriorated.

Shah, who as crown prince was unpopular for his playboy lifestyle, has been staying in Bangkok for some time even though his wife Himani and other family members are in Nepal.

Deputy chief of the Nepali mission in Thailand, Dornath Aryal, visited the hospital this morning.

Paras had been admitted to a Kathmandu hospital in September, 2007, after a mild heart attack.

The former royals, including former king Gyanendra and Himani, are in Bara district of Nepal to celebrate former queen Komal’s birthday.

In December, Paras was asked by a Phuket court to report for a month’s drug rehabilitation programme.
