Calcutta: Bengal reached the quarter-final league of the Santosh Trophy as second best from Group A in the qualifying round. They played out a barren draw against Railways, in Kochi, on Tuesday, which enabled the latter advance to the next round as group toppers.
Bengal will next take on Karnataka this Saturday in their first game of the quarter-final league. They will leave for Quilon on Wednesday morning.
On Tuesday, Bengal dominated proceedings and held the upper hand for a better part of the game against Railways. Captain Dipendu Biswas, though, feels that his team could’ve won the game had the refereeing been “up to the mark.”
“I feel we have played much better today than how we fared in our previous game (against Delhi).”
