Barisic is ecstatic

Calcutta: Andrew Barisic was obviously pleased after having recorded his first hat-trick on Indian soil, with East Bengal hammering Techno Aryan Club 7-1 on Tuesday’s CFL Premier Division Super Nine tie in Kalyani.

However, the striker is aware that he still needs to buck up and work on making full use of opportunities coming his way. “It’s always a good feeling to score thrice in a game and contribute to the team’s victory. But at the same time, I also need to make sure I convert all the opportunities… In fact, this is one area that I’m still working on,” Barisic said.

Coach Trevor James Morgan, too, believes that the Australian will only get better with more and more matches. “I was always confident about Andrew’s abilities. Besides, for me, a player’s overall contribution to his team’s cause counts more than scoring goals,” he said.
