Guwahati, Feb. 19: Navajyoti Club will meet Genesis Club in the final of the Servo 20th Guwahati Challenge Trophy cricket tournament tomorrow, having defeated Bud Cricket Club by eight wickets in the second semi-final at Judges Field here today.
Put to bat, Bud were restricted to 206 for seven in the stipulated 40 overs. Navajyoti rode an unbeaten knock of 84 by former Ranji player Nishanta Bordoloi to achieve the target of 207 runs losing only two wickets in 34.5 overs.
Bordoloi’s steady innings of 102 balls was laced with seven hits to the fence and a six. Teammate Sunzow Brahma contributed a run-a-ball 77.
Raju Das of Bud claimed a wicket for 42 runs.
Earlier, Bhaskar Kalita topscored for Bud with a quickfire 58 off 39 balls. He blasted the Navajyoti bowlers for two fours and five sixes.
Rishav Das (40, 4x5), Manash Das (38, 4x1) were the other main scorers for the side.
Nipon Deka and Parvez Aziz of Navajyoti took two wickets each conceding 34 and 45 runs respectively.
Genesis Club had yesterday rode a century by Manoj Malo to beat Ankurjyoti Club by 54 runs in the first semi-final at the same venue.
