Art curator Ina Puri (above) dressed up in a creation by designer Raja Biswas (right) at the launch of his latest collection, Mahashweta, at 4B Bondel Road (near Ballygunge Phari) on Friday. The range comprises chanderi, tissue and garad in a mix of hues — bright yellow fused with purple, orange, off-white, blue and dark pink. Lotus is the recurring motif. “I have done a 30-inch lotus on the pallus of most of the saris,” said Raja. To weave-lover Ina, the saris reminded her of her grandmother. “She used to wear garad for Kali Puja rituals. These saris are traditional yet look modern,” she said. The display is on till February 26, noon to 8pm.
