Charges against the three youths arrested in the Park Street gang rape case are likely to be framed on Tuesday.
The trial of Sumit Bajaj, Ruman Khan and Naser Khan will start once the charges are framed. In the chargesheet, the trio have been slapped with IPC sections 376(2)(g) (gang rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
If the court upholds all the charges and the accused are convicted, the maximum punishment will be life imprisonment. The accused were arrested on February 18, 2012.
Charges will not be framed against two absconding accused — Kadir Khan and Ali.
