Net hunt for girl gang

Patna, Feb. 16: Seven days on and no leads in the Tanishq jewellery store heist, police are planning to upload the partially-visible closed circuit television camera (CCTV) footage of the gang on www.patnapolice.bih. nic.in and wait for a result.

“With their pictures on the site, it is possible that the police of other states would check the same and give us a clue,” deputy superintendent of police (law and order) Vivekananda said today.

The police have even termed the possibility of any leads as “almost hopeless”.

“The footage have been given to airports and railway stations. This is turning out to be a hopeless case,” added the officer.

The five women had walked into the shop at 11.07am and picked up a set of eight bangles costing Rs 1 lakh each and walked out. The theft was captured by CCTV cameras in the store.

“It cannot be ascertained whether they are foreigners or not until we catch them. They could have been from the northeastern states,” said the official.
