Calcutta: Assam will aim to guard against complacency when they take on Odisha, in the East Zone qualifiers for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, at Eden Gardens.
Given the way the Assam players humbled Tripura, that too, with a bonus point, they will start as favourites against Odisha, who capitulated against Bengal in their last match.
But Assam are not taking anything for granted.
“We have made an excellent start to our campaign. Now, we have to play cautiously… There is a thin line between confidence and over-confidence. We are trying to stay relaxed and not taking anything for granted. “Odisha are a strong side. They have lost their first match narrowly and will come hard at us. But we are ready for the challenge,” said Assam captain Abu Nechim.
A victory on Saturday will definitely improve their chances of booking a berth in the next round.
