You’ve been fans of their music. Now get set to watch them on screen. The official theatrical trailer of One Direction, the film on the eponymous boy band, hit the web this week.
The trailer starts with Niall Horan telling fans: “Thanks to you we are now number one in 37 countries.” The promo then proceeds to show the lads’ on-tour antics, including wrestling, miniature football matches and a stunt which sees Liam Payne balancing bone china teacups on Louis Tomlinson’s head in a hotel room. The trailer also shows Liam going topless as he wrestles Harry Styles and squashes watermelon in his face and Zayn Malik getting emotional in a phone call with his mom.
The part docudrama-part 3-D concert film tells the story of the five members’ origins — how they were put together by Simon Cowell after they all competed on The X Factor, a peek into their families and dreams and a record of their meteoric rise to fame.
Directed by Morgan Spurlock, One Direction, the movie, releases on October 25.
