Day of mishaps in Dhanbad

Three accidents around Dhanbad district left one dead and 12 injured on Thursday.

The first accident took place around 3am near Kandra in Barwaddah when a bus plying between Patna and Calcutta rammed into a tree, injuring 10 passengers who have been admitted to PMCH.

Speaking to The Telegraph, injured passenger Satyendra Singh said they boarded bus around 6.30pm on Wednesday in Patna. “The driver of the bus was a teenwho was inebriated,” said Singh.

The second accident was at Upper Bazar area of Govindpur. Mangru Bhuian (32) was killed at 12.30pm when he was hit by a truck while crossing the road. In the third accident, two person going from Dhanbad to Katras on a motorcycle were injured when their bike collided with a police jeep near Bank More.

Teen killed

A 17-year-old returning to a Saraswati Puja pandal after making arrangements for the music system was killed in Hazaribagh on Thursday.

Rajan Kumar lost his balance and fell from the auto-rickshaw he was in and one of the speakers fell on his head. Officers at Sadar police station said they had registered a case of unnatural death.
