India to start vs Fiji
New Delhi: India will open their campaign against Fiji in the Hockey World League Round II, which will be held at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, here, from Tuesday. They will then play against Oman (Feb. 20), Ireland (Feb. 21), China (Feb. 23) and Bangladesh (Feb. 24).
The women’s team, meanwhile, will start their campaign against Kazakhstan on Monday.

Madrid: Barcelona striker David Villa has been discharged from hospital after treatment for kidney stones and may be fit for Saturday’s league game at Granada, the La Liga leaders said on Tuesday.

Paris: David Beckham trained for the first time with Paris St Germain on Wednesday, two weeks after signing for the Ligue 1 leaders until the end of the season. He took part in a 50-minute session.

New Delhi: Lajong FC on Wednesday roped in Portuguese under-19 international and Blackburn Rovers striker Edinho Junior on loan for the remaining part of the season.

Calcutta: Simarjeet Singh shot a superb 69 to share the lead with Udayan Mane and Syed Saqib Ahmed at the end of the second round of the Haryana Open Amateur Golf Championship on Wednesday. Udayan added a 73 to his overnight 69 while Saqib shot an even par for a two-round total of 2-under 142.

Calcutta: Navratna Ahmedabad began their Louis Philippe Cup inter-city golf tournament campaign in style with an aggregate score of 6-under-138 to be tied at the top with Silverglades Delhi at the Jaypee Greens Golf Resort.

Calcutta: The Vijay Hazare Trophy zonal matches — Bengal vs Tripura and Assam vs Jharkhand — that were scheduled on February 20 have been postponed by a day because of the nationwide strike.
