Calcutta: Woorkeri Raman doesn’t wish to put the players under pressure. Being the defending champions does invite some amount of it, but the message has been to stay cool and relax. “The boys are aware of their responsibilities… How to play in this format and what needs to be done. They need to be calm,” said the Bengal coach on the eve of their Vijay Hazare Trophy opener against Odisha.
While advising the players to “forget about being the champions and start afresh”, he has also urged them to stay focused. “Everything is a matter of perception… If you think it is a great challenge, then so be it… The main thing is to stay focused,” he said.
