Cabinet sanction

Patna, Feb. 12: The Bihar cabinet today sanctioned Rs 52.30 crore for the payment of salary in accordance with the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations with effect from April 1, 2012 and clear arrears of the Fifth Pay Commission to the employees of four Command Area Development Agency in Patna, Muzaffarpur, Saharsa and Bhagalpur. he cabinet also approved the excise department’s proposal to impose Rs 10 on every LPL (London Proof Litre) of country made liquor and flavoured country-made liquor. It raised the license fee from Rs 70 an LPL to Rs 90 an LPL for country made liquor and Indian Made Foreign Liquor.

Exams

Patna: Dr Ajay Kumar, general secretary, Bihar Health Services Association, and Dr Abhishek Kumar Sinha, general secretary, Contract Doctors Association, Bihar, on Tuesday met Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) chairperson K.C. Saha and told him to cancel the BPSC examination on February 16, alleging it is not being conducted according to rules and regulations.

Patna: Officials of the drug control section and police raided three shops on Govind Mitra Road on Tuesday and found fake cosmetics bearing names of reputed companies. The seizure was worth Rs 10 lakh

Patna: Jitendra Singh Rana, commandant, 16th Battalion of Bihar Military Police, scored the most with 115 points at the inaugural day of the Akhauri Inter BMP Shooting Competition in Rohtas district on Tuesday.
