Imphal, Feb. 11: Nahrol Yaipha Thourang Club won its last league round match today by defeating Kangchup Road Young Physiques and Sports Club by 1-0 goal in the fourth All Manipur Football Association Senior Women Football League for B.M. Singh Trophy at Khurai Thongkhong football ground.
Naharol has no chance in the tournament as its matches ended today. They fought four matches and could win only one, securing three points.
Kangchup Road played three matches and could win only one so far. The team also have three points and will have to win the fourth match to advance further.
Manipur Police and Eastern Sporting Union took the lead in the points tally by securing six points each so far.
State hockey: South East Youth Organization defeated Charangpat Development Organization by 2-1 goals in the first match of the 14 boys state-level hockey tournament today at Khuman Lampak hockey stadium organised by Hockey Manipur.
Stalin Singh of South East scored both the two goals in 45th minute (penalty corner) and 55th minute.
For Charangpat Sh. Suresh scored one goal in the third minute. Th. Denik of Charangpat was shown a green card in the 42nd minute.
In the second match, Posterior Hockey Academy defeated Khongman Students Club by 8-2 goals.
For Posterior, Y. Nelson scored four goals in the ninth, 23rd, 24th and 50th minutes, while B. Sanathoi scored three goals in the fourth, 32nd and 55th minutes.
W. Sitaljit scored one goal. For Khongman, S. Mikel scored one goal in 19th minute, while S. Jackson scored one goal in the 34th minute.
Kh. Jetli of Khongman was cautioned in the 43rd minute.
