Is it a spa or is it a cosmetic clinic? For, tranquility rules the roost at the Apollo Cosmetic Clinic in Delhi. A Buddha statue in the lobby and the smell of incense wafting in the air add to a sense of calm.
Welcome to north India's first comprehensive cosmetic clinic that recently opened its doors and combines cosmetic surgery with cosmetic treatments — all with state-of-the-art lasers. Launched by Apollo Hospitals in Delhi — as a separate wing of the hospital — here's where magic makeovers are being promised in three laser rooms. Customers can head here for hair removal, 'resurfacing' (akin to smoothening) the skin and even ridding themselves of the tattoos they have got bored of or annoying pigment patches.
"Procedures that were earlier done surgically can now be done with laser technology. Tattoos and birth marks can be removed leaving the skin intact," says Dr Lokesh Kumar, one of the five specialists on the cosmetic wing of the team.
While a sitting of the hair removal treatment lasts for about 15 minutes, pigment/ tattoo removal takes 20 minutes and skin resurfacing is completed in about 30 minutes. The target groups, say the doctors-in-charge, include young people who can step in for acne removal, while older people can be treated for open pores, uneven skin tones and more. The cost per sitting starts from Rs 3,000.
