Munda finger at BJP for fall

Bokaro, Feb. 8: Ousted chief minister Arjun Munda today admitted openly that a few senior BJP leaders and MPs ruffled JMM feathers to result in his government’s collapse.

Hamein apnon ne loota gairo mein kahan dam tha, meri kashti wahan doobi jahan paani ghutno se kam tha (My own men robbed me, outsiders didn’t have the clout, my boat sank when water was below my knees),” Munda implied an internal, below-the-belt attack, speaking exclusively to The Telegraph at Bokaro Niwas.

He also seemed to agree to popular sentiment that whenever he went abroad, some BJP leaders made mischief. This time, when he was in the US, despite knowing alliance compulsions, some senior BJP leaders issued provocative statements against JMM top brass to “withdraw support if they had the guts”. That is what ultimately happened in January second week.

“Some from my party instigated others to topple my government. I told this to my party high command,” he said.

On being asked to name specific persons, Munda smiled. “Just read names in the newspapers,” he said.
