Calcutta: Smriti Mehra sealed her first title of the season with a comprehensive victory in the second leg of the Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour.
Smriti carded a two under on the final day and finished with a total score of 203 to emerge victorious, here, at the Tollygunge Golf Club, on Thursday. Sharmila Nicollet (71), who was placed fourth after the second round, came back strongly to finish joint-second with Vani Kapoor (72), both having a total score of 216.
Smriti has been very consistent in this leg, which is reflected from the fact that she was the only player to have under par scores in all three days of the competition.
Neha Tripathi, winner of the first leg, finished fourth with a triple bogey at the 12th hole and a total score of 219. Rani Sonti (223) finished fifth, while Ankita Tiwana grabbed the sixth spot with a score of 227.
