Bokakhat boys triumph

U-15 cricket Guwahati, Feb. 6: Hosts Bokakhat crushed Kaliabor by eight wickets in a zonal league match of the Amarjit Sarmah Trophy inter-district (under-15) cricket tournament at Bokakhat on Wednesday. Kaliabor elected to bat first and were all out for 86 in 37.5 overs. In reply, Bokakhat romped home losing two wickets in 20.5 overs.

Fide ratings: Four Guwahati chess players — Prasurjya Gayan, Udinav Mahanta, Hritik Sinha and Prithwis Das — were awarded Fide ratings in the last world rankings published by the apex international body on February 1. Mahanta is ranked 1174th, Das 1189th, Gayan 1459th and Sinha is ranked 1356th.

Sports climbing: Asish Dutta and Nitu Basumatary of Assam bagged a silver each in the 2nd All India Sports Climbing Championship, organised by Kamarhati Trekkers’ Association of Calcutta, in Calcutta on February 2 and 3.
