Imphal, Feb. 6: Kanchup Road Young Physiques and Sports Association defeated Eastern Sporting Union by 2-1 goals in the 4th All Manipur Football Association Senior Women Football League for B.M. Singh Trophy at Khurai Thongkhong football ground today.
E. Bidyarani of Kangchup Road drew first blood by scoring in the 12th minute.
Eastern Sporting managed the equaliser when Y. Premi scored three minutes later. The first half remained 1-1.
Both the teams fought hard to increase the tally but drew blank until the referee awarded a penalty in favour of Kangchup in the 60th minute.
Eastern Sporting’s A. Romi committed a foul inside the penalty area. E. Bidyarani of Kangchup Road took the responsibility of the spot kick and converted it into a winner.
Boys’ football
Kadangban Apunba Nahrol defeated Leimapokpam Apunba Shanaroi Lup by 3-0 goals in the under-13 Th. Birachandra Singh Football Academy Boys Football Tournament played at the football ground of the academy at Taobungkho in Imphal West today.
In the under-16 section, Leimapokpam Apunba Shanaroi Lup defeated Sanjenbam Khunou Development Committee by 2-1 goals.
