We’re all for pushing the envelope but these b-town beauties went too far! t2 tells you what went wrong

What do you say to someone who had the ultimate Bollywood debut (Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year) with ultimate fashion guru (Manish Malhotra) and still didn’t learn a lesson or two? Tsk tsk. Alia Bhatt in her teeny tiny skater dresses, glamorous headbands, pop mouths and luxury labels played the fashion goddess on campus with conviction but left to her own devices it’s just one style disaster after another! Alia needs help ASAP. May we provide some pointers:

1 Colour. She’s young. She could do with some spark. Why the boring black and white. Alia can pretty much pull off any colour in the shade card. How about we start with a hot pink? Or maybe a delicious tangerine?

2 Experiment. With silhouettes, hairstyles, make-upů. Mickey Contractor made her look like a dream in SOTY. Those bright lips definitely worked for her on screen. What’s stopping her from embracing bold and beautiful looks off it?

3 R&D. Trend research aren’t bad words. Wearing one boyfriend blazer doesn’t make her on-trend. Definitely not if the other looks before and after were so not with it. It’s not about being a victim but it’s nice to know what’s hot — and what’s not!

4 Un-blah it. Fun it up. Mix, match. Add the chutzpah, bring on the spunk. Have some fashion fun, girl!

5 ID ‘your’ designers and labels. Knowing what designers work for your personality and body is a vital step on that style graph. She needs to find her ‘calling’. How about hiring a good stylist for starters?
