Protest support

Bihar Health Services Association (BHSA) on Sunday extended support to the contract doctors’ boycott of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination on February 16.

BHSA general secretary Ajay Kumar said: “We are supporting the contract doctors’ boycott of the examination.”

At a joint meet organised by BHSA and Bihar State Contract Doctors’ Association (BSCDA), he criticised the government for not regularising services of the contractual doctors even though the state is grappling with a shortage of medics.

BSCDA president Dr Amitabh Kumar said: “The government has left us with no other option. We have decided to boycott the BPSC written examination. We will also take out a rally on February 10 with BHSA members.”

Dr Ajay said: “I have asked the contract doctors to prepare themselves mentally for the struggle.”
