Calcutta, Feb. 2: City-based Berger Paints has registered a 57 per cent growth in consolidated net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2012 at Rs 77 crore against Rs 49 crore in the same period a year ago.
Consolidated total income from operations stood at Rs 920 crore against Rs 783 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.
On a standalone basis, total income from operations for the third quarter stood at Rs 822 crore against Rs 703 crore in the same period a year ago.
Standalone net profit rose 44 per cent to Rs 65 crore from Rs 45 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year.
“Operating profits have gone up significantly because of softening of raw material prices, particularly rutile. Further, there was better realisation because of an improvement in product mix. Going forward we can expect a reasonable final quarter in terms of demand,” Abhijit Roy, managing director of Berger Paints, said.
