Fake cops

Durgapur: Two bike-borne men posing as policemen stopped an elderly lady in Asansol on Saturday and took away gold ornaments worth Rs 1 lakh, saying wearing jewellery on roads was banned.

The lawyer son of Chinta Tiwari, 60, has lodged a police complaint.

Molest arrest

Calcutta: One more youth was arrested on Saturday over the alleged molestation of a 16-year-old girl in Barasat on Friday. Meher Ali, who was arrested on Saturday, and Mohammad Jafruddin, picked up on Friday, have been remanded in 14 days’ judicial custody.
