New Delhi, Feb. 1: International filmmakers will now find it easier to shoot in the country as the Centre has decided to set up a single window clearance system to grant all permission and clearances within a fixed time frame.
The information and Broadcasting ministry is hoping to get Film Promotion and Felicitation Board, on the lines of Foreign Investment Promotion Board, functional by the year-end.
The board will facilitate granting permissions and sops to international filmmakers who want to shoot in India. “At present, filmmakers require about 20 permissions... where they want to shoot,” said I & B secretary Udai Kumar Varma.
