Dumka, Jan. 30: Three youths were arrested today for the alleged gang rape of a 30-year-old tribal woman near the outdoor stadium here last night.
Tinku Kumar, Pappu Kumar and Ranjit Yadav were sent to jail after an FIR was lodged with Town police based on the victim’s statement.
A fourth accused is absconding.
Police sources said the victim, a resident of Bagdubi village in Muffassil police station area, was accosted by the four men from Bandarjori near Gandhi Maidan when she was returning home.
They took her to an abandoned place behind the stadium and raped her before a police team could reach the spot following a tip off.
The medical examination of the victim was conducted at sadar hospital.
