Calcutta: Aloke Mukherjee may resign as Mohammedan Sporting coach.
Sources said that Mukherjee is peeved after several run-ins with a top club official.
“I don’t want to make any comment on this issue. All I can say is that I’ve sent a letter to the club president, Sultan Ahmed, on whose request, I had joined Mohammedan Sporting,” Aloke said.
Club officials, however, seem to keep their fingers crossed over his future in Sporting.
“We know that the coach has sent a letter, addressed to our president and secretary. We’ll come to know about the contents of the letter when we sit for an emergent meeting on Wednesday. We aren’t able to get in touch with him,” a Mohammedan Sporting official said.
If Mohammedan Sporting officials fail to placate Aloke, then Raghu Nandy may take over the reins.
