Juvenile police unit

Inspector-general of the Crime Investigation Department Arvind Pandey on Monday inaugurated a juvenile police unit in the district and pledged a similar facility in Darbhanga soon.

Pandey said the unit would look into complaints of sexual harassment of minors. The officer urged police to send juvenile offenders to remand home after producing them in juvenile justice court.

The new unit started functioning from the office of Muzaffarpur senior superintendent of police Rajesh Kumar, who would monitor the functioning of the unit in the district.
