Liverpool shocked

London: Third-tier Oldham Athletic rekindled memories of happier days by slaying seven-time winners Liverpool 3-2 at home on Sunday, capping a weekend of FA Cup fourth-round shocks that gave the Premier League a bloody nose.

Fernando Torres rescued FA Cup holders Chelsea from a shock fourth-round exit with a late equaliser to salvage a 2-2 draw at third tier Brentford, but eight-time winners Tottenham Hotspur were upset 2-1 at Leeds United.

Goals from Luke Varney and Ross McCormack put the Second Division side Leeds in control at Elland Road. (Agencies)
