Imphal, Jan. 27: Moral Educational Intellectual Renaissance and Athletics Association moved into the quarter-finals of the 14th Kanti Mukherjee memorial invitation hockey tournament defeating Youth Club cum Information Centre 5-2 at Khuman Lampak hockey stadium today.
Super Sporting Association Cosmopolitan Youth Club and Hockey Union also entered the quarter-finals. Moral Educational and Super Sporting got nine points each, Cosmopolitan got seven points and Hockey Union secured four points.
In today’s last league round match Moral’s N. Romenkumar scored two field goals in the fourth and 29th minutes. Th. Tompok scored two field goals in the 10th and 13th minutes while N. Vecker scored one goal via penalty corner. Youth Club’s B. Bishorda scored a field goal in the 44th minute while L. Romeo scored a field goal in the 47th minute.
