Hush-hush security for Pak team

Bhubaneswar, Jan. 25: The Pakistan women’s cricket team is expected to arrive here on Saturday for the World Cup in Cuttack but the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) and the police are in the dark about the fixture and venue for the matches.

“We have not been provided with the itinerary of the matches to be held in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. Once we get the schedule, we will have a discussion with OCA officials and make security arrangements accordingly,” said DCP Nitinjeet Singh.

But sources in the East Coast Railway confirmed that some matches would be held at the Railway Stadium here. “We have received a circular regarding shifting of matches from Driems ground to Railway Stadium here,” said a East Coast Railway official.

OCA president Ranjib Biswal said ICC would inform them about the itinerary by Saturday.

“The players will arrive in batches and stay in three hotels in Bhubaneswar,” said Biswal.
