Weekend chill
The chill is likely to linger through the weekend and possibly the first few days of the next week with satellite pictures showing no possibility of cyclonic circulations and western disturbances. The minimum temperature dipped to 11.7 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal, on Friday and is expected to hover around 11 degrees on Saturday and Sunday as well.
Tease arrest
A youth was arrested at Maidan Metro station on Friday for allegedly teasing two teenagers. Arjun Sardar, 25, started harassing the girls soon after they took the Metro from Belgachhia. The girls got off at Maidan but the youth followed them.
Bus set ablaze
A private bus was torched by a mob after it hit a woman, who had just got off the bus, as she was crossing the road near Belgachhia on Friday. |
