Aadhaar in PF opposed
New Delhi, Jan. 25: Trade unions have opposed retirement fund body EPFO’s decision to make the submission of Aadhaar mandatory for its over 50 million existing subscribers as well as new members. The trade union leaders said it would be impossible to provide Aadhaar numbers as the scheme was not operational in many parts of the country.
Agra summit
New Delhi, Jan. 25: Political leaders and business delegates from about 45 countries, including the US, France, Australia and Korea, will discuss issues pertaining to the world economic crisis during the Global Partnership Summit in Agra beginning January 27.
Godrej pact
New Delhi, Jan. 25: Godrej Consumer Products Ltd has inked a pact with private equity firm Creador to divest its non-core food business in Indonesia for an undisclosed amount.
Ceat venture
Mumbai, Jan. 25: Ceat has formed a joint venture with Bangladesh-based AK Khan & Company to set up a manufacturing facility there. The facility is expected to be functional by December 2014.
Oriental Bank
New Delhi, Jan. 25: The Oriental Bank of Commerce has posted a 7.8 per cent fall in net profit at Rs 326.40 crore for the October-December quarter because of an increase in provisioning.
