Rail team recce in Dhanbad

East Central Railway’s general manager Madhuresh Kumar, along with a battery of officials, inspected various railway stations under the grand chord section of Dhanbad railway division on Thursday.

The inspection, which lasted for more than 10 hours starting 8.45am, saw Kumar stopping and interacting with various railway employees.

Kumar, along with his personal secretary Vinamra Mishra, chief signal and telecom engineer of East Central Railway (ECR) A. Ganguly, ECR chief operating manager Dipak Nath and ECR chief commercial manager Dipak Chabra, arrived in Dhanbad on board a special 14-coach salon and went to Gomoh to start their inspection from the guard running room and crew lobby.

The general manager also inaugurated the newly constructed inspector’s rest house at Gomoh station, which is made up of four rooms.

Kumar, who has previously served as assistant engineer of Gomoh, also interacted with Mughalsarai division guard C.K. Singh and enquired about the facilities present at the station.

Before leaving, he instructed local railway officials to put up safety signs at different parts of the station for passenger awareness. Kumar then stopped at Hariharpur railway gate where he grilled gate man Vibhash Kumar about various safety issues. He also presented an on the spot cash prize of Rs 1,000 to Vibhash for having answered all queries satisfactorily.

The officials then reached Parasnath railway station, around 63km from Dhanbad, around 1.30pm. The team later conducted an inspection of the station premises before moving on to Koderma where he inaugurated a computerised reservation system facility.
