Pesu raids

Patna: Patna Electric Supply Undertaking (Pesu) officials raided and detected five cases of power theft in Hind Nagar area near Sipara in west Patna. The team raided premises belonging to Rajendra Singh, Manoj Singh, Rajiv Ranjan, Ramadhar Singh and Kamta Prasad. esu has imposed a fine of Rs 2,04,038 on the five, besides lodging FIRs against them at Beur police station.

Voters’ Day

Patna: Information and public relations department secretary Brajesh Mehrotra on Thursday, while addressing the employees and officers of his department, asked them to abide by oaths and resolutions taken by them on the eve of National Voters’ Day.

Agreement

Patna: A cultural and scientific agreement was signed between the University of Porto, Portugal and AN College, a constituent unit of Magadha University, Bodhgaya, to establish academic exchanges.

Seminar

Patna: Prem Youth Foundation on Thursday organised a state-level seminar themed “Increasing unemployment and Options” at the Youth Hostel on Fraser Road. The seminar was inaugurated by urban development minister Prem Kumar and former Union health minister Dr C.P. Thakur.

Agro loans

Patna: Punjab National Bank has launched a special drive to disburse agriculture loans. Bank officials are visiting villages to indentify the willing farmers for disbursing loans. The special drive would continue till January 31.

Debate

Patna: S. Raza High School organised an inter house annual debate on “Developed countries are more responsible for damage to the environment” and “Printed magazines and newspapers will dry up in the next decade as a result of the popularity surrounding online content” for juniors and seniors respectively on Thursday.

Cops beaten up

Patna: Two policemen of the Patna City area were allegedly beaten up by unidentified people in the Jalla Gali area on Thursday.

Patna: Around 300 experts from across the country would attend the 67th National Conference on Tuberculosis and Chest diseases between February 8 and 10 at Mahavir Cancer Sansthan.
