Trinamul catch

Calcutta, Jan. 23: The acting president of the Nationalist Congress Party’s Haryana wing Dinesh Joshi has switched over to Trinamul Congress’s state unit with his followers.

K.D. Singh, Rajya Sabha MP and the party’s in-charge for the north zone, said Trinamul was “gaining ground” in Haryana.

“Trinamul is gaining ground in Haryana as people are unhappy with the Congress, BJP-Haryana Janhit Congress combine and Indian National Lok Dal. We are trying to tell the people Trinamul is the only alternative,” Singh said.

Trinamul has promised a monthly old-age pension of Rs 2,100 and a price of Rs 500 per quintal for sugarcane producers.
